Ground-Breaking Technologies and Opportunities for Businesses for Exponential Growth

10X Future Visioning Conference was organised as part of a collaboration between Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and Singularity University (SU) featured speakers discussing cutting-edge technologies, trends, and opportunities.

SU is a global learning and innovation community using exponential technologies to tackles the world’s biggest challenges and build a better future for all. SU is well-known in Silicon Valley as a think tank which facilitates and empowers individuals and organizations across the globe. Together with SIM, the 10X Future Visioning Conference was held on from the 7th to 8th of November 2019 at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The two-day conferenced aimed at bringing participants up to speed with cutting-edge technologies, trends, and opportunities. Catered for C-suite executives, government officials, start-up founders, innovators and other business leaders, the talks was looking to help access current ways of working or creating a strategy map for new businesses. The participants were treated to a wide range of thought-provoking talks and discussions that will allow them to see how emerging technologies can shape the future of their businesses.

Speakers from SU covered topics ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented and virtual realities to biotechnology and entrepreneurship. One highlight is the impact of biotechnology on the future of food and longevity. Dr Ryan Bethencourt, Faculty of Biotechnology and Future of Food at SU, will discuss the prospect of advances in cellular agriculture and clean meat in feeding the additional three billion people who will be born over the next few decades. Dr Aubrey de Grey, Faculty of Longevity at SU, will share the advanced research on human longevity and the possible creation of the Homo Vivus – humans with radically extended lifespans – and its massive implications on both the social and economic dimensions.

The first edition of this conference held in March 2019 was fully subscribed to by more than 380 participants from multinational companies, small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups. The companies were from sectors such as finance and insurance, scientific and technical, manufacturing, and wholesale and retail trade, as well as from the public service with 85 percent of participants are C-suite decision makers. [APBN]
